Once Super Bowl 54 brings the curtain down on the 100th NFL season, Canadian football fans can start to look ahead to the real business of the CFL. With the new campaign beginning in June, there is plenty of time to make a decision on some CFL futures but with football fresh in the minds, this is a perfect opportunity to see what’s on offer.
The choice of futures betting on the Canadian Football League is a little limited but we can start with the most obvious pick.

Markets are up and running on the outright winner of the Grey Cup in 2020. The regular season will begin on June 11 and finish on October 31 with the Grey Cup itself scheduled for the Mosaic Stadium in Regina on November 22.
Remember, our defending champions are the Winnipeg Blue Bombers who beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats by 33 points to 12 in the 2019 Grey Cup.
Both teams feature strongly in the betting this time around but it’s the Tiger-Cats who start as clear outright favourites at odds of 4.01 from Sports Interaction.
Next up are the Saskatchewan Roughriders at 5.00, followed by the Calgary Stampeders at 5.98 and once again, both of those prices are with Sports Interaction.
So we’ve seen that the Tiger-Cats are clear at the top of the market and it’s widely noted that they have a strong roster again. Orlondo Steinauer’s side is eight-time winners of the Grey Cup but their most recent triumph came back in 1999. The Stampeders will attract some interest as 2018 winners and Dave Dickenson’s men are widely tipped for a productive year.
Behind the top three, last year’s Grey Cup winners the Winnipeg Blue Bombers are relative outsiders at 6.04 with Sports Interaction.
We may well have already covered the winner of the 108th Grey Cup but could there be a surprise lurking within the Chasing Pack? With only a small number of teams involved, it’s unlikely that we’ll see a shock this season but it could be wise to take a look at the Edmonton Eskimos.
The most successful team in the history of the Canadian Football League is quoted at odds of 9.00 with Sports Interaction. As the weeks progress, we may see some additional sportsbooks getting involved and there could be betting options for the winner of each division but for now, it’s all about picking an outright winner.

It’s an unfortunate fact that success in the CFL will attract the attention of scouts across the border and that’s why it’s so hard for teams to successfully defend the Grey Cup. Reigning Champions the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have suffered from key losses to their roster and we suspect them to struggle in 2020.
On the flip side, shrewd acquisitions are key and that’s why we have picked out the Edmonton Eskimos as possible contenders this year. The arrival of Scott Milanovich as Coach is expected to have a positive effect throughout the side and a productive year would depend on the performances of Quarterback Trevor Harris.
If you can claim a bet on Edmonton to reach the final of the Grey Cup then we’d suggest taking a serious look. It may be a stretch for the 11-time winners to get over the line, however, and a stronger bet could lie with the Calgary Stampeders. The 2018 winners have regrouped and, as one of the most consistent sides over recent years, the depth and knowledge of how to win the Grey Cup is as good an indicator as any moving into the new campaign.
