After last week’s disappointing 3-1 defeat at home to Houston Dynamo, Toronto fans will be expecting big things from their team this weekend. Going up against bottom-of-the-table FC Cincinnati, there are next to no excuses for Toronto to fall short in their pursuit of a crucial victory at BMO Field. At 1/3 with Betway, the Canadian side are expected to win – and win comfortably.
It has been a case of one step forward, two steps back for Toronto in recent years and you won’t find too many punters going big on Greg Vanney’s side because of that. Inconsistency has haunted the Canadian outfit over the last few campaigns and it has been the same old story for Toronto in 2019. Momentum has stalled but they should still have enough quality to win this contest…
Meanwhile, FC Cincinnati have been the Major League Soccer whipping boys this year. With just five wins in 22 league games, they are rooted to the foot of the Eastern Conference and another defeat looks likely this weekend. Cincinnati have conceded an incredible 51 goals in 2019 – nine more than any other MLS team. The floodgates could open if Toronto make an early breakthrough.
Optimists may be tempted by the 8/1 available with 888Sport for an away win but you’d be better off looking at Toronto in the betting odds here. With just two road victories all year, it is almost impossible to place too much faith in this uninspiring FC Cincinnati side. Watch this space, we could be set for plenty of goals this weekend.

Toronto SHOULD Prove Too Strong
Major League Soccer has a tendency to throw up the odd shock result from time to time but Toronto should have the beating of FC Cincinnati. With so much uncertainty surrounding the visitors, Toronto can exploit their weaknesses from start to finish and we could see Vanney’s side push for a comprehensive triumph. 8/11 with William Hill for Toronto to be leading at half-time is a decent price.
Toronto have been so up and down this year that their statistics are somewhat skewed. The Canadian outfit are more than capable of putting FC Cincinnati to the sword but the hosts cannot allow complacency to sneak in. If Vanney’s side are overconfident in their approach, they could get caught out and an embarrassing defeat could be on the cards.
FC Cincinnati Out Of Their Depth?
Perhaps we are being a little harsh on Cincinnati but Major League Soccer’s new franchise have looked out of their depth at times in 2019. There were always going to be tough spells for the team but nobody expected FC Cincinnati to be at the foot of the Eastern Conference standings for most of the 2019 campaign.
Punters fancying Cincinnati to avoid defeat should snap up the 5/2 with Ladbrokes for the road team to win OR draw. With Toronto failing to inspire confidence, this has banana skin written all over it. With the double chance betting odds available at an appealing price, FC Cincinnati carry some appeal ahead of this weekend’s fixture.
Major League Soccer viewers will be expecting a plethora of goal-scoring opportunities here and the over/under line is worth a look. 11/10 for over 3.5 goals this weekend is a decent price but 8/11 with William Hill for Toronto to lead at half-time is the better option.
FC Cincinnati will try their best but all omens point towards Vanney’s side here. Watch this space, Toronto could run riot at BMO Field.
TIP: Toronto to lead at half-time (8/11 with William Hill)
CORRECT SCORE: Toronto FC 3-1 FC Cincinnati (12/1 with 888Sport)
