As we suggested in our Toronto Raptors season preview, Nick Nurse’s side have flown out of the blocks in the early stages of the 2019/20 campaign.
Currently 4-1 after five NBA games, Toronto are fighting it out with the Philadelphia 76ers at the top of the Atlantic Division. It is early days of course but signs are positive for the Raptors after a promising start.
The Scotiabank Arena faithful will be expecting big things for the remainder of 2019/20 and punters will be backing Toronto to emerge victorious here.
Prior to the opening weekend, the Milwaukee Bucks were clear favourites to win the Eastern Conference title this year. However, it would be fair to claim that the Bucks have blown hot and cold in recent weeks.
You won’t find many NBA fans writing Milwaukee off just yet though. Blessed with one of the strongest rosters in basketball, the Bucks tick all the right boxes to enjoy lots of success in 2019/20.
We are just five games into the new season and it would be foolish to read too much into their 2-2 record at this moment in time. Write Milwaukee off at your peril.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has picked up where he left off at the end of last season – which can only mean positive things for the Bucks.
With the 2019 Most Valuable Player living up to the hype once again, Milwaukee can build momentum throughout the regular season and the Bucks could feature prominently in the playoffs come next summer.

Raptors Set To Exceed Expectations In 2019/20?

The departure of Kawhi Leonard hurt the Raptors in the offseason but Nurse’s side have shown enough early season promise to suggest that they can cope without him.
A few weeks ago, Toronto would’ve been written off ahead of a clash with the Bucks. Now, the Raptors are probably slight favourites.
The Scotiabank Arena crowd will be expecting a win for the hosts and a convincing performance will send shockwaves across the NBA. This could be Toronto’s chance to remind rivals who the defending champions are…
Milwaukee – The Team To Beat In The East?
On current form, Milwaukee won’t strike fear into too many teams but the Bucks have the tools to breeze past any of their NBA opponents.
It would be foolish to write Milwaukee off after five matches and Giannis can lead the Bucks back to the playoffs. With a bit of luck and a few big road wins, there’s absolutely no reason why Milwaukee cannot succeed this year.
The Bucks won three of the four regular season meetings between the sides last season and that could give Milwaukee a psychological edge ahead of this clash. However, Toronto fans will argue that their 4-2 series victory in the playoffs means more than those results and it will be interesting to see whether Milwaukee come out firing from the start.
This is the perfect chance for Toronto to send out a statement of intent. An eventful couple of months took some of the gloss off their playoff excursions but Raptors fans know just how talented this team is. Watch this space, we could see Toronto run riot at Scotiabank Arena if everything goes to plan here.
The Raptors probably won’t run away with this one but it might be more comfortable than most expect. A 6-10 point margin of victory for Toronto looks likely.
TIP: Toronto to win by 6-10 points
CORRECT SCORE: Toronto Raptors 115-108 Milwaukee Bucks
