It would be fair to state that the Anaheim Ducks have failed to inspire confidence so far this season. Widely regarded as one of the more consistent National Hockey League teams, the Ducks are currently seventh in the Pacific Division standings.
Anaheim fans won’t be hitting the panic button just yet though as the Ducks are just two points behind the Vancouver Canucks in third place in the division. A win here will certainly boost confidence at Honda Center.
Meanwhile, Winnipeg are flying high in the Central Division. The Jets are third in the table and plenty of punters will fancy Winnipeg to emerge victorious – especially after their run of seven wins in the last 10 National Hockey League games.
On current form, you’d be hard pressed to argue against the Jets against anybody. Fans are already dreaming of Stanley Cup glory but there is a long way to go; it is still very early days in the regular season.
Without further ado, let’s preview both teams ahead of Friday’s big clash. Winnipeg have been rock solid in 2019 and most NHL fans will be expecting the visitors to come up trumps this weekend. Will it pan out that way though? Only time will tell…
Event Date: November 29, 2019
Anaheim Destined For More Playoff Disappointment
It would take a brave man to back the Ducks for the postseason at this moment in time. The situation is precarious at best for Anaheim right now and they are in desperate need of a big victory to act as the catalyst for a successful campaign.
Confidence is low at Honda Center and you won’t find too many punters taking the 22/25 available with 888sport for a Ducks win in this contest. They are certainly stronger at home than on the road but inconsistency has plagued Anaheim throughout the campaign.
Ryan Getzlaf leads the team in points scored but he has only managed 20 through 26 games. Comparatively, most team-leading players are averaging at least one point per game, if not more and that shows how disappointing Anaheim’s main men have been this year.
Stanley Cup Glory A Genuine Aim For Jets
Can Winnipeg win the Stanley Cup, you ask? Why not, we say. The Jets have been building momentum over the last few years and the stars may align for a famous Winnipeg triumph come the end of the 2019/20 campaign.
On paper, the Jets aren’t exactly blessed with talent compared to other teams but there is a different feel to life at Bell MTS Place. Winnipeg are focused on playing well as a team and that in itself makes a huge difference in terms of results.
A win here will silence the doubters. The Jets are regularly overlooked by NHL pundits and fans so Winnipeg supporters would love nothing more than to receive praise from the wider ice hockey community.
Bookmakers are finding it tough to separate these two teams but Winnipeg are flying right now and the Jets will be difficult to beat. The 10/11 available with William Hill could turn out to be a huge price based on recent form alone.
Anaheim have been better at home than on the road this year but that is nothing out of the ordinary. The Ducks are still in contention over in the Pacific Division but they need to string a run of results together sooner rather than later.
The heart and the head both say Winnipeg will come out on top in this encounter. Anaheim may put up a bit of a fight early on but the Jets should pull away in the latter stages.
TIP: Winnipeg Jets to win (10/11 with William Hill)
CORRECT SCORE: Anaheim Ducks 2-5 Winnipeg Jets
